Care Instructions

General Care

  • Keep furniture away from direct heat sources and prolonged sunlight to prevent fading, drying, and warping. If lots of direct sunlight is unavoidable, rotate items on top of furniture to keep color changes even.

  • Wipe surfaces with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust.

  • Use coasters, mats, and pads under drinks, plants, diapers, and oily balms. Clean up spills and liquids immediately - never let liquids sit on surface

Wood Care (White Oak, Maple, Walnut)

  • Exteriors and drawer sides made with hardwood finished with Rubioin Monocoat

  • Clean with a damp (not wet) cloth, then dry immediately

  • For deeper cleaning, use Rubio Monocoat Surface Care or a mild, natural soap. Avoid harsh cleaners, ammonia, or abrasive pads

  • Small scratches can often be refreshed with Rubio maintenance oil. Contact us if you need help with a repair kit.

  • Avoid cleaners such as pledge or other wax based cleaners. Rubio takes a recoat easily, waxy cleaners may inhibit this.

  • Walnut will react to constant, direct sunlight more quickly than some other woods.

Leather Care (Edelman)

  • Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth

  • Blot spills immediately with a clean, dry cloth - do not rub.

  • Use a slightly damp cloth for light cleaning - wipe dry immediately

  • Avoid harsh cleaners, saddle soaps, or household chemicals

  • Over time, natural marks, softening, and patina will develop - this is part of the beauty of Edelman Leather

  • For deeper care, use products recommended by Edelman or a professional leather specialis

Long Term Care

  • Every few years, consider refhresing wood surfaces with Rubio maintenance oil to restore luster and protections

  • Leather can be conditioned periodically (every 12-18 months) with a high quality conditioner suitable for full-grain leather.
